As a student trustee, I will ensure that student voices are heard in decisions both small and large. Be a bridge for clear communication between the students' union and students, demanding transparency and accountability. I believe that financial responsibility, the pursuit of sustainable initiatives, investing in student well-being, and academic support should be priorities in organisations such as UCL. As a student trustee, my presence in meetings will speak for the voices of many, and my decisions regarding finances and governance would be well-informed, impartial and rational.
My experiences working with Charity Week and serving on the Hampshire NHS Youth Board, I believe I can bring valuable experience and skills to this role. During my vice lead role in Charity week, I made organisational and financial decisions. Finding creative ways to raise money on campus exposed me to budgeting and resource allocation, through which I gained organisational awareness and strategic thinking. My time on the NHS youth board gave me direct contact with policy discussions, governance and collaboration. My experiences align with what it means to be a student trustee.
You should vote for me because I have a strong leadership, advocacy, and decision-making record. I will ensure financial transparency and responsibility whilst campaigning for meaningful change. I am committed to improving communication between students, the Union and our university. I will work to ensure all students are heard and supported in key decisions affecting their time at university. I understand the importance of charity organisations, and I'm prepared to dedicate my time to ensuring our university fulfils its charitable commitments whilst upholding impartiality.
Hi everyone, I am Natalie, a 1st-year Mathematics student.
As a Student Trustee, I’ll ensure the Union stays student-focused and makes decisions with integrity. If elected, I will:
- Bridge the gap between students and the Union, increasing transparency and ensuring student voices are heard.
- Advocate for clear financial management and secure more funding to support student wellbeing and alleviate student financial burdens.
- Create an inclusive and supportive environment with better mental health support, academic resources, and extracurricular opportunities.
I will bring strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills from organising volunteering events and large-scale college conferences. My internship experience has strengthened my teamwork ability, allowing me to collaborate in high-pressure environments and solve problems efficiently. My bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese enables me to bridge language barriers, ensuring international student concerns are addressed. Most importantly, my passion for enhancing student life drives me to create an enjoyable and inclusive social environment for all students.
As a female international student with hands-on experience in leadership roles, I am committed to ensuring students’ opinions are valued at the highest level of the Union. My skills in cross-cultural communication, teamwork, and problem-solving will help make the Union more organised and engaging. I will prioritise transparency, inclusivity, and student well-being, ensuring every student feels represented and supported. By voting for me, you are choosing someone who not only values efficiency and collaboration but also brings a global perspective to drive positive change for all.

I will work hard to:
- Reduce ambiguity in Union's governing documents. e.g.: lack of a 'policy' this academic year, led to acceptance of a sponsorship from a fossil-fuel company. This doesn't resonate with majority of the student body, undermining our commitment to sustainability.
- Current complaints process at Union is extenuating and poorly described, deterring students from making a complaint. I'll ensure that the Governance committee provides us with accessible resources to not only support our vision, but also modify Union's practices that do not represent the larger student body.
For the past two years, served in roles of Societies Representative in the previous year, and Societies Officer this year. In my role, I have actively used my right to vote to represent the student body in key decisions at Activities Zone. I fostered financial growth of the societies by consistently casting my vote in Friend's Trust Grant Panel.
I supported the policies that:
- Prevent SU from taking up fossil fuel sponsorships.
- Make Active Bystander training compulsory to all Student Officers.
Along with my experience in SU's processes, I bring integrity and a passion for Student Voice.
I have gone above and beyond to actively participate in the Activities Zone.
I voiced out concerns of the student body e.g. exhausting financial processes for clubs and societies, lack of clear guidance in applying to funding, lack of policies deterring the sustainable growth of Union.
While some of my contributions materialised into policies at the the SU, there are many yet to be heard.
Being a Trustee, enables me to directly input these concerns into the governing and financial bodies of our SU to uphold your best interests at SU. I now ask your help to make it happen.
Yours Truly,
Sree :)
