As general secretary, I would focus on raising awareness about homelessness and keeping all members of the society up to date with events in order to maximise outreach to the homeless across London. I would relish the opportunity to work in a team to assist with various fundraisers and social events that the society offers. If elected, I hope to make a positive impact on both the society and to homeless people across London.
Hi I'm Kylie, a second year student at UCL, and I am running for general secretary of the UCL streed aid society. Walking pass those without a shelter on the way to school has constantly sparked a question in my head - what is the least I can do to help them? This question, along with my deep sense of compassion, has driven me to step forward for this role. Becoming part of the committee is not just about personal fulfillment; it’s about bringing essential skills and fresh perspectives to strengthen the society’s impact. Strong communication and having accountabiity are qualities I have accquired through my past experiences. I will ensure to keep committe member informed regarding decision making and initiatives, fostering a culture of trust within the work space. As an outgoing and adaptable individual, along with my willingness to learn, it allows me to communicate with anyone with ease. I hope to cultivate a fun dynamic within the society while steadily working towards our shared mission. Most importantly, I am beyond exicted to work with a group of like minded people for a better cause. Thank you!
