Hey Stage Crew!!
Stage Crew has been my home at UCL, it’s where I’ve found my people, worked on some incredible shows, and learned so much. Now, I want to help make it just as welcoming and rewarding for others.
I’ve had the chance to take on a variety of roles, from CSM-ing Carousel, Kpop, and Panafrik, to lighting design for Jazz Fusion and CSSA, to DSM-ing Welkin. Plus, as last year’s Publicity Officer, I’ve already been involved in keeping our community connected and engaged.
If elected, I’d love to:
- Introduce Stage Crew Families – a buddy system to help new members settle in and build friendships.
- Bring back the Stage Crew Newsletter – so everyone stays in the loop with events, opportunities, and highlights.
- Work with publicity officers to create more viral moments
- Create more training opportunities
-

Vote for me guys!

As Vice President I will:
Seek to make training more specific and robust, including providing exercises to give real practice to those not yet skilled in different aspects of stage crew, and a means to allow those new to the society to keep track of what they do and do not know.
Provide digestable weekly updates so everyone can actually keep up with the incredibly large amount of stuff we get up to.
I also have really cool merch ideas so I will do my best to see to it that we get:
- pin badges
- higher quality shirts with the proper stage crew font
- quality embroidered hoodies
I will work to reach out to local theatres for opportunities to work or volunteer in an environment outside of UCL, aiming to provide valuable experience to our members.
I will push to establish Stage Crew families, to provide mentoring support to new members to the society, who may feel overwhelmed by the established community and experience required.
Stage Crew is medicine for me.
Working together on something urgent, creative, and complex, brings you close to people very quickly, I've made some very good friends. I love it, and I'm here to stay.
Hiya! I've been in Australia for the year, but as one time ends, another time begins - and I'd love to continue my engagement in Stage Crew as your Vice President next year! As a former externals officer, I have experience of both being on committee and staying organised while running multiple shows, so I think I've got the management side more or less down at this point :-).
I'm dedicated to the training and upskilling of Stage Crew members, and strongly believe that just because you started doing set, light, sound or stage management you shouldn't have to continue there. As someone who has painted dance floor, mixed musicals, DSM'd shows, lit plays, and taped literally ALL THE CABLES, I would encourage everyone to try different disciplines and provide the pathways to make this possible.
At the moment, I'm working on a series of training documents designed to take you through the basics of LX programming, using the DiGiCo, and writing a prompt copy, to help you learn the skills needed to run shows in your own time. In addition, I would like to provide more in-person training sessions based on what YOU want to learn throughout the year and not just in training weeks or on-the-job. Finally, I would like to start a workshop series in collaboration with people in the industry and former Stage Crew members to just vibes and learn things :-).
Also, I will get us Fresnel stickers. Fresnel in the ICONIC hard hat stickers to put on our laptops. If nothing else, vote for me for that. ;-)
