Hello my name is Eliza, I’m a BA linguistics student going into my third year. I always enjoy the stage crew socials, as we all need some freedom outside of our beloved Bloomsbury. Why not replace the Bloomsbury, for a singular night, by going to watch something at a different theatre? I aim for stage crew seeing one show (either west end or off west end) per term to have a chance to relax away from our beloved chaos of prod week. I would also love to collaborate with other artsUCL societies or UCL societies in general for some fun socials that we can all enjoy, and potentially build even better bonds with them all. Otherwise, I love a cheeky game night, a chill study session or a fun trip to the pub. I love being an active member of stage crew, and would love to advance the social side of it further.

Despite being unable to do lots of shows this year due to training clashes, I have actively participated in Stage Crew Social life (e.g., pub socials) to stay part of the community, which I have come to value deeply. I am standing for Social Secretary as I want to continue to bolster the social aspect of Stage Crew Society, both through casual events and more organised ones (e.g., board game/movie nights, picnics, theatre trips) which are inclusive to all students.
Being a fresher this year, I am also running for social Secretary to introduce events throughout the year to welcome newcomers to Stage Crew Society, encouraging those who are nervous to dive straight in.

Hii I’m Nikki and I’ll be going into my 2nd year of law next year! One thing I love about Stage Crew is meeting new people on every show, and what better way to meet even MORE people than organising socials for them to come to?! Socials are such an important part of SC and making everyone feel like one big family (😊) so here are my proposals for making socials even more BANGING:
- Take Stage Crew to Heaven guys why has there not been a social to Heaven
- More interaction with the outside world… reminder that there’s more to life than the Blooms
- outdoor events when the weather is nice! Why are we not playing rounders in Regent’s Park rn… why are we not having picnics and frolicking in the grass…
- Have more niche events for specific interests! (sports, film, TV shows, hobbies)
- watch parties, crochet/knitting socials, themed events around shows/films, etc
- can take suggestions so there’s something for everyone :)
- Recommendations for fun places to visit/ fun events happening that week! Being social isn’t limited to SC events :)
- Collab events with other societies!
- make stage crew the forefront of everyone’s attention do not let them forget how important we are… artsUCL would be NOTHING without us.
Hope these ideas sound fun to you!

Hi, my name is Leah. I am running for Social Sec because I love Stage Crew and socials are a great way for all of us to get to know each other better. We all spend lots of time together whilst on shows, but socials are another great opportunity to hang out outside of the theatre.
I have been on Stage Crew committee this past year as Freshers’ Rep and this has given me the opportunity to get to know a lot of our members and I also know what it is like to be a fresher trying to figure out university and make friends at the same time. Overall, joining a society can be a bit daunting, but socials are a great chance for anyone to come along, be welcomed into our society and have fun.
As a Social Sec, I would aim to run some new, engaging and inclusive socials throughout the year, so everyone can take a break from the theatre at times and just socialise. I would like to plan a few group trips next year to watch UCL shows together. This would allow people to enjoy a great show, whilst supporting the amazing cast and crews, and it’s also an opportunity to help with get out (and maybe attend the after party) afterwards.
I am open to ideas that anyone may have and would be happy to listen and maybe share them with the committee. I hope to help this society continue to be amazing and successful for this next year (and hopefully many years after). I’m so happy to have this opportunity to get even more involved in this society and I hope that you’ll consider me for this role. Thank you!

I'm Caoimhe (pronounced Key-ver), a Neuroscience student going into my 3rd year at UCL! I am standing for Social Sec because I would love to have a more involved role in Stage Crew! Since joining at the start of this year, I have immersed myself into the theatre environment and have thoroughly enjoyed the myriad of roles I have had a go at, from stagehand in Shrek to CSM of RnBlooms! Having not had technical theatre experience before coming to UCL, the Stage Crew society was a great environment for learning - with it being such a fun activity outside of my studies I cannot wait to return next year, alongside the thrilling socials that will be taking place!
I also love the pub. Though I have never been above 10th place in a pub quiz, I have definitely taken part, and will absolutely recreate the difficulties I have had for all of you. I can also shuffle a pack of cards like nobody's business, so get ready for poker night.
Another fun thing that I will do involves my encyclopedic knowledge of venues in the local London area (no exaggeration), so get your trainer/steelies combo prepped for my own rendition of a scavenger hunt, which I am excited to share with you all.
As Social Sec, my priorities would be:
- Endorsing interactive activities for everyone - no Stage Crew member left behind!
- Putting a new spin on the pub trips - preparing activities at the start that will entertain til closing!
- Get us all into the daylight. No complaining.
