Stage Crew Society: President

Stage Crew has defined my UCL experience—from my first studio show to 18 productions later, it still holds a special place in my heart. My passion for it drives me to lead as President.

Serving as Treasurer this year has taught me not just how Stage Crew operates, but how to lead—through collaboration, trust, and embracing the strengths of others. The diversity of this community has shown me the irreplaceable value of opinions of those from different walks of life. I owe so much to this community—the support and knowledge shared have shaped my journey, and I want to pay that forward.

It is this diverse and supportive culture that I want to continue to foster and so a key focus of mine will be training up our current and incoming freshers and thereby making our community an inclusive and accessible one. This will be through trying to negotiate an extra training week in the theatre as well as many more workshops. A key concern is to keep up with the increasing demand of Stage Crew and I believe a way to do this is to deal with our engagement problems by utilising the big spike in interest at the beginning of the year.

I have been lucky to find something I love, and as President, I want to help others do the same. I will champion our committee, advocate for Stage Crew with the SU and the Theatre, and ensure it continues to thrive.
