Alex Taylor

I’d like to get involved with committee, and have fallen in love with blooms shows this year. I was the CSM for A Monster Calls, DSM for CSSA and dance, and ASM for the Welkin. From this experience I believe I am competent and will do a good job for Blooms shows in 2025/26.

Megan Pagett

Hi, I’m Megan, I’m running for Blooms Theatre officer as I have spent too much time in the blooms this year to not have absolutely loved the experience. The blooms is the centre of Stage Crew, from the green room to Monday Get ins, it is the space where Stage Crew come together to support each other in the shows that we have been able to create over the year. This year especially the shows in the blooms have step up in the incredible shows in the space with moving towers, tree trunks and grass filling the stage, the blooms has shown its versatility and how much we can achieve as a society in the theatre. I hope to continue to facilitate these incredible ideas into the new year.

Beyond being in the blooms too much, as my focus is Stage Management I have had the lucky experience over the years to be extra hands in different departments which has expanded my knowledge of the blooms and to utilise this in the role. I hope to structure roles more efficiently, like how we managed ASM roles this year, to improve our workflow for shows. I also aim to increase shared knowledge through templates for people new to lead roles, and with my passion for spreadsheets to organise this efficiently.

The blooms is an incredible place that we are lucky to have the opportunity to work in and I aim to strive for a fun and educational environment where we as a society can support and encourage one another in the shows that we create.

Rahul Kumar

Hi everyone! My name is Rahul and I’m a first year student studying Computer Science! Before coming to UCL, I was involved in Stage Crew for five years and have now been a member of Stage Crew since Term 1. During my time in Stage Crew I have been able to get involved in a really great range of shows and would love to get the opportunity to represent you on the Stage Crew Committee for 2025/26 as the Bloomsbury Theatre Officer.

I have been quite lucky to work across a few different departments Lead Crew roles in the Blooms, and know firsthand how difficult it can be to learn new skills during the short amount of time we actually have in the theatre.

That’s why I want to make training and communication more accessible and structured during show weeks. Some key ideas I’d like to introduce:

  • Ensuring time for hands-on learning before tech begins, so crew members feel more confident stepping into their roles.
  • Easier access to support: I’d work with the Blooms theatre technicians to ensure that both they and I are available at set times to answer questions.
  • Better communication between Prod Teams and Stage Crew: Creating a clearer system for passing on information, so crews aren’t left scrambling for last-minute details or having to adjust to changes on show nights.

Blooms shows are an incredible opportunity to challenge yourself, and I really want to make them as smooth, educational, and enjoyable as possible for everyone. Thanks for reading :))
