Squash Club: Welfare Officer

I would love to be the new Welfare Officer of the squash club because I really care about the club and the sport, and I feel very strongly that everyone should be able to have someone to turn to if any welfare issues arise. I am a friendly and approachable person and am always willing to lend an ear or take on feedback. As a PhD student, I'm also highly organised and always proactive with getting things done (and am always willing to procrastinate doing any of my actual work).

I also have previous experience with being on a (very intense) sports club committee - in 2022/23 I was social secretary at Downing College Boat Club (Cambridge), where I regularly organised a range of social events for the club and worked closely in a team with the rest of the commitee to aid the general organisation of the club. I have a strong awareness of the kinds of welfare issues which can arise in sports clubs and can recognise the appropriate responses needed in such scenarios, and I want to have a positive impact on club as a whole.
