What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I bring over two years of experience and commitment to serving students as a Societies Rep, and the Societies Officer this year. Through this role:

● I have actively participated to represent the student body in key decisions at Activities Zone
● I fostered financial growth of the societies by contributing to the Friend's Trust Grant Panel
● I supported the policies that:
1. Prevent SU from taking up fossil fuel sponsorships
2. Make Active Bystander training compulsory to all Student Officers Along with my experience in SU's processes, I bring integrity and a passion for Student Voice.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

My role as Societies Officer has been a learning curve for me to grasp SU's processes behind the scenes. While I was introduced to many opportunities and policies SU has in place to support the student body, I also recognized the lack of access to these resources, and low awareness among the student body regarding these processes

If re-elected, I will:

Improve SU's financial services for societies and maximise funding options, as we overcome understaffing.
● Help navigate troubles and collaboration among the committee
● Offer extra support for development of Departmental Societies

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

As Societies Officer this year, I have actively served the student body on various fronts, which include Activities Zone meetings, Grant & Affiliation Panels. I have contributed to Disciplinary Panels, ensuring not to condone any behaviour that risks the safety and integrity of our student body.

However, there is still more work to be doneI am reapplying, to continue pushing for streamlined processes, fairer funding, and clearer communication so that all societies — big or small — can thrive

In order for me to do so, I need your faith and support in me

Yours Truly,

#SreeforSocietiesOfficer

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I spent the 24/25 academic year as President of the Society for the Application of Psychedelics. During this time, I had the opportunity to learn about the importance of the relationship between societies and the Student's Union.

I gained a deep understanding of the process of running a society and organising events - including how difficult it is to achieve  high turnout. I have fine tuned organisational and leadership skills that have allowed me to foster positive relationships with my committee, and used this to successfully run very enjoyable events and socials.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

I believe that UCL has a major problem with the engagement of students in societies. There are an enormous amount of options, often so many that it is difficult for new students to sort through them and find ones they would like to join.

Working as President of a society I have come to understand what matters to students who are looking to join and attend events. I hope to use these skills to tailor and develop new strategies for societies and the Union.

I hope to bring positive change and ideas that will increase engagement and facilitate the process of participating in societies.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I believe students should vote for me because I have a clear understanding of how societies need to function in coordination with the SU to increase their membership and attendance. I am aware of the critical lack of engagement in general interests societies at UCL, and I have several ideas on how to tackle this issue. My experience as President of SAP has helped me understand what it takes to create a society that truly feels like a community, where attendance and engagement is high.

I hope to bring my knowledge, ideas and skills to improve societies and the UCL student experience.

Weining Pan (Weining)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

As a Women’s Network and International Network officer, I have coordinated events, managed logistics, and led initiatives that engage diverse student groups. I led and organized a career panel for Women’s Network, gaining firsthand experience in event planning, budgeting, and student engagement.

Through these roles, I’ve developed strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. I understand the challenges student societies face, from funding delays to engagement gaps, and I am ready to bring practical, student-driven solutions to support UCL’s vibrant society ecosystem.

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

If elected, I will streamline funding and reimbursement, ensuring societies receive support faster and easing student leaders’ financial burden.

I will simplify approvals for new societies and events, making it easier for ideas to become reality.

To boost engagement, I’ll launch an “Ideas Hub”, where students can submit proposals, feedback, or volunteer interests, keeping societies active and dynamic year-round.

I’ll also expand society outreach beyond Instagram, increasing visibility, engagement and participation.

My goal is to make UCL’s societies more inclusive, efficient, and student-driven.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I know how much student societies mean—they bring people together, create opportunities, and make university life unforgettable. But I also see the challenges: delayed funding, slow approvals, and limited engagement beyond election cycles.

With hands-on experience organizing society events, I’ll ensure societies receive faster financial support, better approval efficiency, and more student-driven opportunities through the Ideas Hub

I am dedicated, proactive, and committed to making UCL’s societies thrive. Vote for me, and let’s build a stronger, more dynamic student community together!

Adam Cleary (He/Him)
What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

In my first year at UCL I have gotten quite involved
I am on 4 committees and growing, and I participate in far more.
I am an activities representative with the Union
I have sat on every activites zone IN PERSON (even before I got the role) and have been in consistent communication the Sabbatical Officers
I have helped arrange and operate many events across several societies, I know what it's like to run one

What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

Across societies The Union is seen as the number one arbiter of all problems.

I hope to act as a point of reference between the two, whilst also voting to reduce red tape, and to facilitate easier communication between the Union and Its societies.

no but like an ACTUAL point of reference:
I will make myself very present to all societies, and will reach out to ask for input and opinions either in person or via social media.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I am likely one of the most qualified individuals to hold this position.
I have shown through my actions that I am committed to representing the interests of societies.
I'd like to give up some more of my time to help.

It doesn't take much to waffle and lie on an application like this so all I'll say is:
I will do everything in my power to help as many societies as I can
