Oscar Bourke

Hi all,

I’m running for Vice-President (welfare & relations) because I want to be at the heart of snowsports, helping make it as welcoming and as fun as possible. Despite only joining in November/December, I’ve got stuck in, attending training regularly and have gone to AJAM and Ascot, having thoroughly enjoyed the slightly nuts - but good fun group of people. Unfortunately, I’ve been unwell these past few weeks, but I’m looking forward to Andorra and getting properly involved next year.

This role isn’t just organisation: it’s about making sure everyone feels part of the club, whether as keen racers or just here for après. My experience as treasurer for Junior Consulting Sciences Po gave me strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills—essential for ensuring trips and events run smoothly, that sponsors and trip organisers remain our friends, all while keeping welfare a priority, and continuing to foster the welcoming atmosphere that makes snowsports what it is - I have definitely felt very welcomed myself, and would want to give that back.

As a French-Scot from Edinburgh, I think I am capable of including people in a diverse environment with people who are genuinely keen to meet and make friends with others. As vice-president I would contribute to maintaining a good exterior image of the club when organising and interacting with key relations, whilst creating an environment that favours openness and kindness within snowsports.

See you on the slopes... or at the pub!

Georgia Gera De Petri

Hey everyone it's Georgia, and being part of Snowsports for the past two years has been one of the best parts of my university experience, so I would love to help run the club as Vice President, ensuring it continues to grow, improve, and remain a welcoming space for everyone. I understand what makes this club great, as well as areas where we can do even better. I’m a friendly and approachable person, always happy to support members—whether with welfare concerns, advice, or just a chat.

I have strong collaborative and organizational skills, which will help me assist the President and work effectively with the committee. I will prioritize welfare by organizing events like welfare brunches and outings, maintaining anonymous welfare forms, and fostering a safe, inclusive environment. I also want to expand our charity and volunteering efforts, increasing fundraising events like quizzes and raffles while working with the Student Union to create meaningful volunteering opportunities for members to give back. Sponsorship is another key focus, and I will work to secure new sponsors while strengthening relationships with existing ones, ensuring their contributions benefit both the club and its members.

Above all, I truly care about this club and everyone in it. I want to make sure Snowsports remains an incredible, welcoming space for all—and if I get the role, I guess I’ll actually have to show up to training

Charlotte Weber

As someone who has been fully involved in the society this year, from the socials, to the trainings and to the competitions. I know how important it is to have a welcoming and supportive community. From the first day at Freshers’ Fair to that great first Phineas night, Snowsports has truly shaped my first year. I want to give back by making sure everyone feels included, whether it’s bringing people together at socials, looking out for each other on nights out, or just being someone you can turn to when needed. I bring energy, approachability & dedication. I also know that i will have some responsibility which i believe i can handle well even during second year. My aim is to create a welcoming and friendly comfortable atmosphere for everyone whilst still ensuring the continued success of the club and keep building on what makes it so great.

Karim Yaseen

Hi everyone, my name is Karim and I’m a first year HPE Student. Having been one of the club’s most committed freshers this past year, I truly believe I could do a great job in the VP role.

One of my main aims is to ensure Snowsports remains a place where everyone feels welcome I take pride in the fact that I’ve met people in this society from all corners of the world, from freshers to PhDs, and despite all our differences, our shared love for Snowsports and this community has brought us together. That’s something really special, and I want to make sure it continues for years to come.

Beyond that, I want to expand our relationships with sponsors and explore new opportunities to bring more benefits to our members. One idea I’ve had is introducing new merch that’s unique to our society—like UCL Snowsports branded neck warmers/ski masks. They’d be a unique addition, cheaper than a fleece or coat, but still super practical for what we do.

Welfare isn’t just about looking after people—it’s also about creating an environment where everyone feels comfortable being themselves. This society should be a comfort zone for everyone, a place where people can fully enjoy themselves while contributing to creating the community and making it an even better space for everyone.

Snowsports has been a massive part of my time at uni so far, and I’d love the chance to give back, help the club grow, and make sure everyone continues to have the best possible experience.
