Snowsports Club: Social Secretary

Hi everyone!!, my name is Karim and I'm a first year HPE student. Snowsports has been the highlight of my time at UCL, and that all started with the socials, turning up to the welcome social at the rocket, then the first Phineas, Scala... And on and on having found myself at just about every event this year. I hope to continue promoting a welcoming  and inclusive environment for everyone in the society from our star racers to the beginners who've never skied/boarded. Part of my plan would be expanding the snowsports family system that we did for the first curry night, make it like a subgroup for the first term where committee members can keep up with new members at a smaller scale, making sure they feel welcome and are having a good time as that's what our society is about.I'd also like to get more of our social members involved in our competitions as they are the heart of our social life and what makes us stand out from other societies especially our day comps like KINGS and AJAM. Most importantly, I want a society where all are having fun every step of the way: dancing, laughing and just chatting away, a bit of skiing too of course. Last but not least, theme of the first social… Free drinks!!

As someone who has attended every social this year, I know exactly what makes them unforgettable or too good you can't remember them. I’m a true Scala warrior, always keeping the night going. Whether it’s curry nights, ice skating, or the classic Wednesdays at Rocket followed by Scala, I want to get as many people involved as possible, having myself brought some outsiders to our socials. I think there is no doubt in peoples minds I have what it takes to be Social Sec. I’m usually one of the last ones still going. I won’t disappoint.
