I am excited to run for Networking Officer of the Sikh Society. As a strong and growing community, we have the opportunity to connect with students, professionals, and organisations that can help us grow both personally and professionally. If elected, I will work to strengthen these connections and create meaningful opportunities for all members.

My focus will be on building relationships with other university societies, Sikh organisations, and industry professionals to expand our network. I will organise networking events, career panels, and mentorship opportunities that allow members to connect with inspiring individuals and gain valuable insights into different fields.

I will also work to ensure that Sikh Society remains a welcoming and inclusive space where members can form lasting friendships. Whether through casual meetups, collaborations, or career-focused events, I want to create a strong support system where everyone feels connected and valued.

With your support, I hope to make Sikh Society a hub for personal, social, and professional growth.

UCL Sikh Society is a space for connection, community, and growth, and I want to strengthen these values by creating more opportunities for members to network, collaborate, and build meaningful relationships. As Networking Officer, I will focus on expanding our society’s reach, connecting students with professionals, and fostering a strong support system within our community.

What I Will Bring to the Role:

  • Career & Professional Networking Events – I will organise panels, mentorship schemes, and industry-focused events, helping students connect with Sikh professionals across different fields.
  • Stronger Alumni & Inter-Society Links – I will work to build relationships with UCL Sikh Society alumni and collaborate with other Sikh and cultural societies to expand networking opportunities.
  • Social & Community Engagement – Networking isn’t just about careers; I will also arrange social meet ups, discussion forums, and informal networking events to help members form lasting connections.
  • Clear & Effective Communication – I will ensure easy access to networking opportunities through well-organised events, clear communication, and active promotion across all platforms.

I believe that I am well suited for this role because I am organised, proactive, and committed to strengthening connections within Sikh Society. With a strategic approach and strong networking skills, I will create meaningful opportunities for students to engage, collaborate, and grow – both personally and professionally.

The power of Sangat and connection is life-changing. It uplifts, supports, and opens doors to opportunities we may never have considered. As Networking Officer, my goal is to bring people together—to help members see the many paths available within our community and beyond. I want to create a space where connections aren’t just made but truly felt and valued, where members feel empowered to explore new opportunities, whether in their faith, careers, or personal growth.

I plan to organise collaborations with other societies, guest speaker events, mentorship programs, and career-focused networking sessions. I also want to introduce interactive workshops with professionals across various fields, allowing members to gain valuable insights, ask questions, and build relationships that could shape their future. Sikhi teaches us to uplift one another, and I want to make sure that every member has access to the resources and support they need to thrive.

With strong organisational skills and leadership experience, I am ready to take on this role with full dedication. Networking isn’t just about making connections—it’s about building a strong, supportive Sangat that helps each other grow. My vision is to create a society where every member feels connected, inspired, and ready to take on new opportunities with confidence.
