I am excited to run for Interfaith Officer of the Sikh Society. Sikhism teaches values of unity, equality, and respect for all faiths, and I want to ensure that our society embraces these principles by building meaningful connections with other religious and cultural groups on campus.

If elected, I will organise interfaith events, discussions, and collaborations with other societies to encourage dialogue, mutual understanding, and a sense of community. I will work to create safe spaces where students of all backgrounds can engage in open conversations, learn from one another, and celebrate shared values.

I also aim to strengthen the society’s engagement in charitable and community initiatives that align with Sikh values of seva (selfless service) and inclusivity. By working closely with different faith groups, we can foster friendships, promote unity, and ensure that Sikh Society plays a key role in interfaith collaboration.

Together, we can make Sikh Society a driving force for interfaith understanding and cooperation.

Through my first and second year of uni, ! have really enjoyed the experiences I've had with this society, from the kirtan to the games nights. With the great experiences this society has given me, ! would like to give back to the society by helping out on the Comittee. I would like to apply as the interfaith officer to get more involved with the society and help organise Kirtans. I feel like this is a huge part of the society, and would like to contribute to setting up and packing away after, making sure all the equipment is moved carefully and safely.

Thank you.
