Hey everyone,
I’m Ecem, a second-year History, Politics, and Economics (HPE) student at SSEES, and I’m running for Vice President of our SSEES Society.
I’ve proudly represented SSEES to broader audiences through roles like Transition Mentor, Welcome Ambassador, and VPEE Student Ambassador, and now I’m ready to continue supporting our community as Vice President. With my experience, I’m committed to unlocking the potential I’ve seen in our amazing community and working alongside the President to bring events that benefit all of us, making SSEES even stronger and more connected.
What to expect:
Stronger Socials – I want to help create events that make it easy for everyone to meet new people and have a great time. Think fun pub nights, themed parties, and laid-back socials where you can actually connect with others.
Engaging Academic Opportunities – SSEES is home to many talented academics, and I want to ensure we fully tap into their expertise. I’ll organise a wide range of academic events that cater to all interests, from speaker panels to specialised discussions. I will also focus on providing internship and graduate role opportunities to help build meaningful career connections.
Collaboration Across Societies – I’ll work on building stronger partnerships with other societies so you can take advantage of all the amazing events, opportunities, and experiences that UCL has to offer.
And yes, I’ll make sure the lifts are actually working :)
Thanks!
Hi everyone!
My name is Sasha and I am so excited to be running to be your Vice-President this upcoming year! Some of you might remember me from the best event ever, known as SSEES-MAS 2024 or maybe just seen me around Masaryk room… As a current welfare and engagement officer on the SSEES committee, I know how the society operates and I am ready to take on a new challenge to improve our society further<3
If elected, I will:
- Keep SSEES Society a welcoming space – SSEES is lucky to have students from all kinds of backgrounds, and it’s up to us to make sure everyone feels included. By working together, we can keep it a friendly and respectful community for all.
- Host more impactful events, as well as a handful of socials - a good balance of both is what keeps things fun and interesting around here. Academic events are great for learning something new and raising awareness about current affairs in our region, whereas social events are a perfect place to make new friends and hang out.
- Boost Engagement – SSEES events should be something every student looks forward to. I’ll work closely with the Committee to introduce a wider variety of events, making sure there’s something for everyone—whether it’s social, academic, or cultural.
My goal is to create more opportunities for students to connect, get involved, and feel part of the SSEES community!
