Helloo everyone! My name is Kelly, and I am a first-year Pharmacy student running for the position of Charity Lead. I am passionate about making a positive impact within our community, and I believe this role provides a unique opportunity to connect the School of Pharmacy with meaningful charity campaigns. As a student pharmacist, I recognise the importance of supporting others—whether it's by raising awareness for vital causes or working alongside other committees to incorporate charity initiatives into our school’s events and activities.
If elected, I aim to leverage the SOP platform to support both local and global health initiatives, raise awareness of critical issues like mental health and access to healthcare, and motivate our fellow students to get involved. I’m excited to help organise future charity events that are both engaging and impactful!
I look forward to the chance to work alongside a team of like-minded individuals who share my passion for charity and community work. My goal is to ensure that the events we organise reflect the values of the School of Pharmacy and create a lasting positive impact. I’m eager to bring my organisational skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to this role and make a difference!
I am excited about the opportunity to use my skills to support meaningful charity initiatives and make a positive impact. I hope you will consider my application!
Events in mind :)
- Talent shows
- Bake sales
- Movie nights
- Badminton tournaments
- 5K marathon

As Charity Secretary this year, I’ve had the privilege of taking part in organising impactful events, from a breast cancer awareness bake sale to a charity art auction supporting gynaecological cancer research. Collaborating with the Sudanese Society for the "Paint and Greet" was especially rewarding, as it provided hope and support for displaced pharmacy students. These experiences have strengthened my passion for charity work and have shown me the potential we have as a student body to drive meaningful change.
Now, I am eager to take this further as Charity Lead. I want to build on this momentum and create a more engaged and inspired cohort. If elected, I will introduce more interactive and diverse initiatives, such as a Pharmacy Fundraiser Challenge, this could include a Pharma-themed escape, a Pharmacy Trivia Night, a bake off/decorating challenge. I also intent on introducing a Charity in Practice scheme that connects students with volunteering opportunities relevant to pharmacy and healthcare.
I also plan to establish a stronger social media presence to highlight the real-world impact of our fundraising and encourage wider participation. Charity work is most powerful when it unites people. As Charity Lead, I will ensure that every student feels they have a role in making a difference. With fresh ideas and an unwavering commitment to our cause, I hope to lead a year of even greater engagement, awareness, and impact.
