Salsa Society: Welfare & Volunteering Officer

Being part of Salsa Soc for the past two years, including the Rueda and Outreach teams, has deepened my passion for salsa. I love how the society brings people together, creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere, and I would love to contribute to this as part of the team!

My three years of coaching at summer camps strengthened my leadership, problem-solving, and listening skills—essential for supporting and connecting with people. Additionally, as a Leo Club member in Turkey, I gained experience in event organization, formal presentations, and teamwork. Clear communication is key to leadership, and I’d love to bring this to Salsa Soc.

Completing a Foundation Year improved my time management, helping me balance academics and extracurriculars. As my class’s Student Representative, I learned how to engage with people to create positive change.

Through the Outreach program, I saw how salsa brought joy to others, especially older people. This rewarding experience is one of the biggest reasons I want to apply for this role.

A welcoming atmosphere makes all the difference, and I believe the committee plays a key role in fostering that. As Welfare and Volunteering Officer, I’d bring my organizational skills and positive energy to create a supportive, engaging experience for everyone.
