Election post

For the past two years, UCL Salsa Society has been my home away from home. Competing with the Bachata team last year and winning first place was a defining moment for me: it not only deepened my passion for dance but also strengthened my bond with this vibrant community. While Bachata has always been my main focus, Cuban Salsa has sparked a new passion, and I’m eager to continue growing as both a dancer and an ambassador of this incredible society.
I am excited to run for Treasurer because I want to give back to the community that has provided me with friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging. My Political Science degree has equipped me with the skills necessary for managing finances effectively. Through my studies, I’ve honed my ability to analyse quantitative data, manage budgets, and maintain transparent financial records. I also have significant hands-on experience in budgeting, financial planning, and project management, and I’m comfortable using tools like Excel to handle the financial responsibilities with accuracy and detail.
Financial management goes hand-in-hand with communication and collaboration, so I am committed to working closely with the committee, ensuring funds are allocated efficiently to support our events and activities. Ultimately, I want to be a reliable resource for the committee, making sure we stay financially healthy so Salsa Society remains a space where members can come together, share their love for dance, and create lasting memories.
