While attending the indoor competition of BUCS, our team started using the phrase “Lock in” pushing us to focus, run our best and find a funny element in the race that united us. Seeing the team come together like that I decided to run as Athletics Captain and maintain that mentality of efficiency and fun. I am passionate about running and committed to supporting and representing our team. With eight years of experience in competitive running, including two years as captain of my team in Greece, I have developed leadership skills that allow me to motivate and support fellow athletes. My main event is 400m but my experience spans sprints, middle-distance, and long-distance running, giving me a deep understanding of the different challenges athletes face. This versatility makes me well-equipped to support a wide range of teammates, ensuring everyone—from sprinters to endurance runners—feels valued and encouraged to improve. Since joining RAX, I have actively contributed by competing in races, traveling with the team, and strengthening the bonds that make our squad stronger. I have the time, dedication, and enthusiasm to take on this role, ensuring that all athletes feel supported and encouraged to reach their potential. In particular, I want to bring more recognition to middle-distance running at Highgate which doesn’t have as much representation and has a really good coach and team especially for 400/800m runners. Additionally, as a woman in athletics, I believe representation is important, and I want to inspire

I am standing to become athletics captain at UCL RAX for one main reason. That reason is to help make UCL a powerhouse in athletics.
With several years of experience in athletics, and after competing at BUCS and LUCA, I know UCL has much potential in this sport. But I believe UCL can do much better in these competitions, and with athletics as a whole. (We need to really 'lock in'). So, as an aspiring athletics captain, I wish to achieve this through 2 main ways.
First, my main priority is to boost participation in UCL RAX. I have been doing athletics for 7+ years now. It has been full of ups and downs, PB's, injuries and many things of the like. But what makes me come back each time is the unrivalled feeling it provides. The adrenaline of competing, the joy, the teams, the socialising. I don't want this experience to be limited to just a few, so as athletics captain I will make it my priority to bring in as many UCL students into the team so we all can experience the joy of athletics. With 7+ years of experience in the sport, I will achieve this through organising Highgate sessions, athletics socials and races with other unis and sports clubs.
Second, being passionate with motivational speaking, I wish to provide an air of encouragement. I have been quite displeased by UCL's recent losses to KCL in the Varsity competitions. I want to turn this around. I aim to bring in driven individuals into our team and inspire them to help UCL become the athletics powerhouse we should be!

Hey, everyone! I am super excited to run for Athletics Captain because I believe that I have the passion to help the athletics section grow even further next year, and that I have the teamwork skills to make the 2025-26 season a success!
I have loved being part of RAX since I joined at the start of my 1st year at UCL, and as a sprinter, I have seen how the athletics section has improved year on year. Having been to 3 seasons' worth of LUCA and BUCS competitions, I have seen what makes or breaks these competitions, and I believe that the skills I have developed by founding and leading UCL's Orienteering Club for the past 2 years would allow me to ensure that everyone enjoys these events next year.
I have been involved in athletics for over 11 years now, so I have a broad understanding of the sport. I am willing to meet and support new athletes, help to coordinate training sessions, and organise socials so that athletes meet each other, as well as other RAX members or members of other unis, more easily to strengthened our team spirit from earlier in the year.
I would also like to chat with other athletes in RAX to see how they would like to see the athletics section grow, and my time as Orienteering President means I have the skills to implement feedback. Some initial ideas I have had, thanks to chats with others, include finding a coach, making the Varsity programme more compact, and having a clearer feedback system to ensure all voices from the athletics section are heard.
