I have never been the strongest rugby player on the pitch but I have been always impressed by how the UCLMRFC continues to foster a strong sense of family within, no matter the skillset. Being impressed by this, I want to carry it forward to the next year, making the club a better place for all people. To me, rugby's real value lies in the sense of community it fosters both on and off the pitch .Many of us value not only the athletic element, but also the camaraderie that grows beyond match days; I want to become welfare secretary to help preserve this environment by ensuring everyone can play, train, and socialize in a safe, supportive setting, irrespective of which year they are in.
I believe in maintaining the principles that make rugby a model sport: respect, teamwork, and integrity, while still having fun. I will help maintain a culture where players can excel and friendships flourish, evaluating our current processes. Serving as welfare officer is a meaningful way to protect the sport’s community spirit while ensuring everyone stays healthy, confident, and able to enjoy all that rugby has to offer.
Yours truly, The 9 that cannot pass.
