Election post
I am standing for the position of treasurer because I want to see the club grow, and financial responsibility is a key step to a healthy club. I may not be an investment banker yet, but I'll ensure the club's finances are managed properly, efficiently, and transparently, so that we can all enjoy next season on the field and during curry socials.
I think I'm the right person for this position, firstly because, despite relying a little too much on my student loan every month, I am financially responsible at an individual and group scale. From previous experience during internships, I had to budget, track payments, do balance sheets, etc. Secondly, my degree is actually relevant to this position, more than whatever Simms studies, and would bring me experience that correlates to the material I learn in class, like economics, accounting, management, etc. (I promise you management science isn't as bullshit as it sounds)
To finish this off, I want to emphasise how much rugby means to me, whether it's club rugby or university rugby, and being next year's treasurer goes way beyond simply putting it on my cv which has been utilised a grand total of 0 times so far. I want our club to grow and be efficient, and I can assure that everything will be organised so no "unexpected" situations happen.
Vote for me for state-of-the-art budgeting and fundraising, no embezzlement, and a club that’ll last longer than Ireland in a World Cup quarter-final.
