Hello everyone, my name is Kyriakos Ftellehas and I am a 3rd year maths student and in all likelyhood computational finance master student at UCL next year. You probably remember me from the introduction to quant workshop or the Wolrdquant Brain workshop where Denis from worldquant introduced the Brain platform. I have many reasons for nominating myself for president.
The most important one being that I cannot keep bothering my friend Allen who is the president of the fintech society to book a room for us to do an event, since only presidents are allowed to do so.
Secondly, as a person who is very passionate about quantitative finance and mathematics I have dedicated essentially all of my free time in the past 2 years self studying quant related topics that interested me, such as machine learning, algorithmic trading and financial theory. My primary goal for the quant society, is to help people that love the subject find how to study it and what resources to use as i did in the past, while fostering a community for everyone to enjoy the process.
Another part of my vision for the society comes from my passion for competitive programming, and gaming. I believe there are 2 primary drivers for improvement: Access to resources and motivation. I think competition is a real motivation steroid. So I also plan to focus on organizing hackathons and games for us to enjoy and learn from each other.
Thanks for reading!

I should be nominated for UCL Quant President because I have the vision, drive, and discipline to take this society to the next level. My previous experiences in helping to run a student led company as well as leading my school's own economics society, combined with my ability to think long-term and execute with precision, makes me the right person to lead. I don’t just want to maintain the Quant society's reputation—I want to elevate it. That means securing top-tier partnerships, expanding networking opportunities, and ensuring our members have direct access to industry leaders. My approach is simple: results over talk. I’m not here to make empty promises; I’m here to build something that lasts. Leadership, to me, is about creating an environment where people can thrive, push their limits, and get tangible outcomes for their careers. Whether it’s through targeted events, exclusive mentorship programs, or a more structured approach to career progression, my goal is to make UCL Quant Society the strongest stepping stone for anyone serious about breaking into top industries. I operate with focus and efficiency, and I believe this society deserves a leader who treats it with the same level of intensity and ambition as those striving for the best careers. If you want someone who will push boundaries and deliver real impact, I’m the right choice.
