Candidates

Meher Singh Baga

I’m running for Marketing Officer because I believe I can take the society’s engagement to the next level, which in turn will attract more members and ensure high turnout and quality events. I have a strong understanding of social media and know what grabs attention and encourages people to get involved. Combined with my ability to plan ahead and stay organized, I can ensure both consistent and high-quality engagement. Finally, I have experience in marketing—not just casually with friends but also in more professional settings through previous leadership roles—so I already have a solid understanding of what the role requires.

If elected, I will focus on fresh and exciting ways to promote the society. This includes traditional social media marketing, capitalizing on trends, creating interactive content, and placing special emphasis on in-person promotion. I intend to maintain a consistent posting schedule with engaging content like polls and Q&As to keep the community actively involved. The Punjabi Society has one of the strongest and most tight-knit communities at UCL, and I want to make sure that’s at the forefront when attracting new members.

On a side note, I work amazing with our future president Aryan Virdi. He’s been my day 1 mush from time and we can’t be replicated , no diddy.

Overall, I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute, and I’d love the chance to bring fresh ideas to the team.

Saaj Noorpuri

Hi, I’m Saaj and I am excited to run for the position of Marketing Officer for our Punjabi Society. To me the society is more than just a group—it’s a celebration of rich culture, traditions, and community and the events really helped me get settled and make friends in my first year. As Marketing Officer, my goal is to ensure that our society reaches new heights by increasing engagement, promoting our events, and growing our membership and allowing more people to feel that sense of belonging.
One of my key focuses will be bringing more members into our society by creating engaging and eye-catching promotional content. Through social media ,I want to make sure that everyone—whether they’re Punjabi or simply interested in our culture—feels welcomed and encouraged to join.
I will work to showcase our society and events, making sure each one gets the recognition it deserves. Whether it’s club nights, sports tournaments, charity events, or cultural celebrations, I’ll ensure that our promotions reach a wide audience and build excitement.
I’m very proud to be Punjabi and want to promote our culture, from traditional music and dance to language and history, I want to incorporate elements of our heritage into our content so that people not only attend our events but also gain a deeper appreciation for our roots.
Beyond just promotion, I want to create entertaining and memorable content that captures the energy and essence of our society.
