Psychology and Education Society: President

Hi everyone!

I’m Sneha, a Psychology with Education student, and I’m running to be your PES President! This society is all about creating a welcoming space where students can connect, explore their passions, and make the most of uni. I look forward to expanding our membership so that more people can join this community and geek out over common interests!

If elected, here’s what I aim to do:

• More academic & career-focused events – talks, panels, and workshops with professionals to help you network and explore career paths.
• Bigger and better social events – welcome week activities, festival gatherings, arts & crafts, museum tours, bookshop and café hopping, and yes, our iconic IOE Ball!
• Collaborations with other societies – because everything's better with teamwork!
• Peer mentoring sessions – advice from seniors who were just in your shoes.
• Stronger outreach & volunteering links – opportunities to work with schools and mental health institutions.
• Continuing our monthly newsletter – packed with recommendations, from documentaries to articles.

As Course Rep, I’ve built strong connections within the department, and I’ll leverage these relationships with staff to create networking opportunities and strengthen support. My experience as Vice-Head Girl and President of the Liberal Arts Community at school has helped me develop leadership, collaboration, and management skills, as well as empathy and initiative-taking.
