Hello all! Here's why YOU should consider ME as the President for UCL Political Risk and Intelligence Society:
- I am interested in Foreign Relations and Security and will use the opportunity to revive the society and spearhead networking socials, panel discussions and skills workshops to better equip yourself in pursuing career paths in political risk, intelligence and financial industries.
- I also have experience in handling money and budgeting, through currently being a Project Leader for Impact Initiative. I am tasked with the administration of the project and we help support Afghani refugee women in learning English and digital skills through partnering with our NGO, Hopscotch.
- I have previous experience in spearheading newly established projects: as Editor-in-Chief, I am currently managing 14 individuals in 3 different divisions in the UCL English Society Magazine, 'Green & Gilded'; ensuring the timely release of monthly editions and organising socials to enable newer talent to showcase their work.
- I also appreciate the importance of languages in the field, piloting a language buddy scheme called 'Fluency over a Cup of Tea' to promote multiculturalism and enable students to learn a language free of cost. We received over 40 applications and have paired up 20 individuals who are now holding weekly sessions to improve with their desired language.
But finally, I hope to change the apathy towards intelligence and politics during my final year of university.
