I’m applying for Vice President of UCL Polish Society because, let’s be honest, running for President sounds terrifying.

No, but seriously—let’s put it bluntly. I love Poland. I love the culture, the language, the traditions, the history, and OMGGGG, the food. And I hope you do too! I was born in Poland but grew up in the UK, and my family made sure I never forgot my Polish roots—so here I am, applying to be VP.

Polish Society at UCL has definitely made my time here feel more connected to Poland, and recently studying a Polish literature module has deepened my curiosity about Poland's fascinating past. I really hope to help grow and maintain the Polish community at UCL—bo póki my zyjemy, ona zyje tez. (If you know this song, I automatically like you.)

Anyway, I can’t promise much, other than that I’ll try my best to support the President in keeping the Polish Society fun and functioning… hopefully better than the Polish political system.

Aleksandra Sioda

Hi all! I'm Ola, a first-year PIR student, and I am excited to be standing for the role of Vice President of the Polish Society. As the current Events Coordinator, I have gained valuable experience in organising successful events, working within the committee, and fostering community engagement in the society and beyond. Now, I am eager to take on a core leadership role to enhance our society further.

My time on the committee has strengthened my leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills. I have worked closely with members to create events that celebrate Polish culture and include participants from various backgrounds while ensuring inclusivity. This role has shown me the impact our society can have in bringing people together and has motivated me to take on greater responsibility. I want to ensure that our events and initiatives continue to evolve, reflecting the needs and interests of our members.

As Vice President, I aim to build on this foundation, working alongside the President and the rest of the team to expand our initiatives, strengthen partnerships, and create even more opportunities for members to connect and thrive. My goal is to make the Polish Society an even more dynamic and welcoming space for all. With my experience and dedication, I am confident in my ability to contribute meaningfully to its continued success. I look forward to serving as Vice President and helping shape the society’s future!
