Pokémon Society: Events Officer

Hi I am Douglas, a first year Physics undergrad.
Being a part of Pokesoc this year has been amazing, making new friends and connecting with people of similar interests has made the transition to university easier than I thought and than most undergraduates experience. Speaking personally, as someone who is not a naturally sociable person, this society has become a safe space I look forward to every week and enjoy the variety of events organised as a chance to have fun. I want the undergraduates of next year to enjoy Pokesoc as much as I have and feel I can contribute by providing innovative event ideas and organising the events put on by the society so they run smoothly (I like planning and everything needs to be well-planned out!). Although I may not be the most active member of the society I attend most events and would like to organise more in-person events between other London Pokesocs, in particular I really like Pokemon Go and could organise and advertise them for people whether they play the game or not. Furthermore I see this as an opporunity to connect with even more people and make sure their experiences are the same as I mentioned above. Essentially Pokesoc has given me so much this year and I want to give back next year by helping to run the society smoothly so everyone has a wonderful experience.
