Hermione Chan

Hi, I'm Hermione! For those of you I haven't chatted with yet, I'm a second-year English student who's been involved with Pi Media since my very first year.

Having experienced the society both as a member and as one of the current co-Editors in Chief of PiTV, I'm confident that I know the ins and outs of Pi. Just this year, I was able to secure £2,000 in funding for new equipment at PiTV. I hope to do the same for our Online and Magazine sections, as well as improve the process for requesting funding and equipment (we all know that's what we're really here for...).

If elected, I'd love to achieve the following things:

  • Increase the community aspect of the society, either through socials or other events
  • Revamp the official Pi Media website
  • Bring our Pi Online articles into print
  • Increase engagement and continue Pi Magazine's termly issues
  • Maintain a constant flow of content from PiTV
  • Destroy Cheese Grater!!! (just kidding... or not)

With that said, Pi Media is a wonderful and accessible community that has marked much of my university life. I want to continue expanding this space for aspiring student journalists!

Maisy Gledhill

Hi everyone! I’m Maisy, a third-year Psychology student with a passion for genuine, impactful journalism. I’m a published journalist, having written for a media site with 3.5 million monthly unique users, and over the past academic year, I’ve worked as an editor for The London Tab.

And, of course, Pi Media has been a huge part of my university experience - from covering stories that matter to experimenting with different styles of writing, I’ve loved contributing to such a creative and driven publication. Now, I’d love the chance to lead it.

Here’s what I want to do for Pi:

  • Build a stronger Pi community - Pi should be more than a publication; let’s make it a real creative hub where contributors connect beyond just writing.
  • Take PiTV to the next level - I want to help produce more original content, experiment with new formats, and boost production value.
  • Explore new media - Podcasts? Live reporting? Social media experiments? Let’s push Pi’s boundaries and expand our reach.
  • Boost engagement - More visibility, more readers, and more opportunities for people to get involved, whether seasoned writers or first-timers.
  • Open career doors - I want to introduce Pi-exclusive industry talks and networking events with journalists to give members real-world media insights.

Being President would honestly be a dream come true, so please vote for me to help Pi grow!

Feel free to reach out (maisy.gledhill.23@ucl.ac.uk) with any questions.
