Photography Society: Film & Darkroom Officer

I’ve always been drawn to film photography—the hands-on process, the patience it requires, and the satisfaction of seeing an image come to life in the darkroom. There’s something special about slowing down, being intentional with each shot, and working through every stage rather than relying on instant results.
Photography is a personal and expressive medium, and for me, film offers a unique way to connect not just with the  hands on craft but with people—learning from each other, sharing techniques, and pushing creative boundaries together. I shoot both film and digital, but film has always felt more engaging, something I want to celebrate and expand within the society.
As Film & Darkroom Officer, I want to make the darkroom a space where members feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and refining their techniques. My goal is to make film photography feel accessible, exciting and non-intimidating while building a strong sense of community around it

Hi, I'm Will and studying architecture. I have been part of the PhotoSoc committee for the last year and hope to stay involved and have fun going to more events :)

I have been shooting film for a few years now and enjoy experimenting and learning different techniques. I have experience in both developing and printing film, and I also led workshops and darkroom printing sessions last year.
