Hi my names Bella and I'd love to be development sec this year.
I've always enjoyed helping out and coaching other teams, creating a fun yet supportive environment while building strong relationships. Playing for the 6s this year has made me appreciate the importance of feeling included within a team, but I know social netball can often feel a bit disjointed and less of a community. I'd love to change this by creating a more fun yet supportive community where everyone feels welcome. As a key point of contact for any questions from social players, I believe that dev secs should make an effort to get to know each individual player both in training and at socials.
Within the training sessions, there is such a variety of different standards ranging from people who have never played to people who were just shy of making a team. To resolve this issue, I'd love to occasionally split into groups of ability for drills or match teams more evenly. This way, players feel more comfortable whilst also growing in confidence. I’d also promote the Team UCL league, as it’s a great opportunity for relaxed competition that not many people are aware of.
I would be so thankful to be given the opportunity to be this year's development sec, as I feel I could help to create a bigger, more fun, yet organised social training which feels like much more of a community.
