Candidates

Inan Ahmed

I am Inan, a second-year MEng Sustainable Built Environments, Energy & Resources student, and I am excited to run for Events Secretary of the UCL Nature & Conservation Society.

Why Vote For Me?

As the founder of the Maldives chapter of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network, I have hands-on experience in conservation outreach and engagement that I am eager to bring to the society. I have attended various conferences and workshops by organizations such as IUCN and IPBES, and have gathered valuable insights into global conservation challenges. My studies here at UCL have further introduced me to environmental issues that intersect with, and extend beyond conservation. I am excited to bring this knowledge to the UCL NatSoc, where I aim to create engaging events that inspire more students to get involved in environmental conservation.

If elected, I plan to:
- Curate diverse and impactful events, including expert talks, hands-on workshops, nature walks, film screenings and more.
- Increase engagement through interactive and inclusive events to encourage new members, and create a stronger conservation community at UCL.
- Collaborate with UCL researchers, external conservation groups, and other student societies to create events that promote interdisciplinary engagement in environmental conservation.

Christine Li

Hi everyone, I’m Christine, a first-year Biological Sciences undergraduate student from China. Since joining the Nature and Conservation Society in September, this society has brought me immense joy, and I can confidently say that I’ve experienced some of the best moments of my life at its events. If possible, I would love to share this joy with more people by continuing to maintain a safe and inclusive space for everyone who enjoys nature here at UCL.

🌱 I am also an experienced and passionate birdwatcher, and I would love to organise related events, such as bird surveys! I used to do a lot of volunteer work related to bird surveying back in China. By voting for me as Events Secretary, you’ll gain access to a range of birdwatching events 😉
