Musical Theatre Society: Workshop Officer

Hi there! I’m Aruanna, a BA Arts & Humanities student with a deep passion for musical theatre. I’m excited to contribute to this society in the best way I know—through training and skill-building! My goal is to continue this year’s successful Spotlight programme (and showcases), while encouraging every member of the society to get involved.

Over the past two years, I’ve gained experience across various roles—technical, production, creative, and cast—in several theatre-based societies in UCL and a lot of external involvement within the London MT scene. With that, I plan to offer workshops that help develop a well-rounded skill set, ranging from acting through song and MT dance to production and directing. I aim to bring in external companies and speakers from diverse backgrounds to enrich the learning experience all for the price of a membership. Whether you’re just starting out or have been involved in MT your whole life, I want next year’s workshops to be a welcoming space where everyone can learn valuable, transferable skills, explore something new (and have fun)! I believe that making the society more accessible to international students and those with no prior background in musical theatre is crucial for its success, and I would love to be a part of making that happen.
