Jannelle Ofrin

Hi guys! I'm Jannelle, this year’s Welfare Officer, and I’m excited to run for President!

I joined Muay Thai as a complete beginner in my second year, looking for structure and routine at university. What initially started as a fitness goal has helped me grow, not just as an athlete, but in confidence in leadership.

My experience on committee:

  • Social Secretary (23/24)
    • Alongside Yoan, we organised successful events like:
      • Ice Skating
      • Movie Night
      • Karaoke
      • Cross-society pub socials

These socials contributed to our club's development, leading to us winning Club of the Year 23/24!

  • Welfare Officer (24/25)
    • Launched the Muay Thai Families scheme for newcomer integration!
    • Hosted welfare drop-ins in Terms 1 and 2.
    • Promoted weight-cutting awareness via pro-fighter story posts.
    • Raised over £150 for Safe Child Thailand through the Gingerbread House Making event and Raffle!
    • Currently organising  ‘Committee Forfeits’ , where committee members do forfeits as money is raised for Stem4 and Sport in Mind.

What I want to achieve as President:

  • Integrate Women’s Only Sessions to encourage more female participation!
  • Promote structured beginner sparring via the Muay Thai families.
  • Increase interclub sparring sessions and competitions.
  • Continue the Bloodline Sponsorship Scheme.
  • Continue wellness initiatives like Nutrition awareness, Yoga etc.

Why vote for me?

  • Proven leadership in multiple committee roles.
  • Passionate about Muay Thai and community-building.
  • Committed to making the club inclusive, structured and competitive.
