MUA Society: President

Hi! I’m Jen aka the person who gets a different haircut every few months just to feel something and occasionally paints her face for the same reason!

I am hoping to be your MUA soc president next year and carry on the wonderful legacy that Nafisa has left, as well as continue to build the society up as the incredible committee has over the past two years. Since I am going to be around anyway as this is the only society I am actually active in (sorry orchestra), I thought I might as well try take on the role to the best of my ability and spread the MUA joy. 

I am looking to carry on the wonderful traditions we have already like photoshoots, workshops and socials as well as the rewarding external crew experience, and hopefully add some new things too! You can never have enough love for idiosyncratic face art.

Hi I'm Mia <3

Makeup has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. It didn't take long for it to become my main form of self expression and I developed a reputation as "that girl with the cool eyeliner". Since coming to UCL this society has given me so many opportunities to help me grow, do makeup for so many amazing projects with ArtsUCL, meet and collaborate with amazing and talented people who share my interests, and create such a wonderful community of makeup artists. I would be honoured to give back to this community as president.

I am organised (as seen by my google calendar) and have experience working as a part of a group and leading teams (thanks to the number of dances I have led and choreographed.) I have been a part of three separate committees at UCL, including MUA society itself, so I am familiar with the system of admin and working as a group for the society. My experience on this committee this year means I already understand how this Society functions and thrives, and due to my experience as Treasurer for Classics Society in my second year I already know how the forms work.

As president I would love to continue the amazing work this society does for different plays and creative projects, expand the reach of the society, and enhance the connection we have with ArtsUCL. I would also like to expand our teaching opportunities, creating a newsletter to comment on current makeup trends to share tips and recommendations.
