Mixed Martial Arts Club: Social Secretary

As UCL MMA club's social secretary, I will harness the power of the Instagram algorithm to increase the club's social media presence by making posts and reels that are poised for popularity; everybody who views these posts is a potential newcomer, and as someone who once used to struggle socially, I would know that giving them a glimpse into what life is like as a member of UCL MMA club would make the idea of joining an unfamiliar society with complete strangers that little less daunting. Taking the time to post ads for socials, group photos, videos from training, clips from fight nights and even funny short videos every week would bring a much-needed transformation to a society account that is currently stagnating, with its most recent post being over 3 months ago. Under my leadership, I can make the UCL MMA page one of the best-loved student society accounts in London, and we can make our mark on inter-uni combat sports digitally. As your social sec, I will also organise more social events, whether those be sports nights or joint socials with other societies, allowing members of the MMA society to forge meaningful connections both on and off the mat; after all, what's the point of training hard if you can't let go a little at the end of the week? I can also make a number of these events alcohol-free for those who are trying to cut off that extra pound, or don't indulge.
