Election post

Hello;) I'm Helena, a second-year Medical Physics student, and I hope to be your Vice President next year! This year, as Welfare Officer, I’ve loved being part of the MedTech community, whether it’s chatting with students at socials or hosting welfare drop-in sessions. Through this role, I’ve also seen how important it is to connect students with hands-on experiences, and I want to take on a more active role in initiating and managing these opportunities. Having worked in a multidisciplinary research team, I understand the value of collaboration and can effectively organise sub-teams within MedTech to keep events and projects running smoothly, making the society more exciting, impactful, and engaging for our members.
As VP, I want to bring new and creative ideas to the table, such as a MedTech Passport where members collect stamps for attending events to unlock perks like exclusive MedTech merch. I also plan to work with the Marketing Officer to create a MedTech Connections Hub, a website logging all speakers, industry links, and event insights, ensuring connections don’t end when the event does. To bring MedTech beyond UCL, I will reach out to medtech companies and research institutes to organise field trips, providing a more insightful way to explore different career paths. Ultimately, I hope to make MedTech a launchpad for fun ideas and meaningful connections in the field.
