Dear Members of the MedTech Society,

I am excited to apply for the position of Treasurer, as I am eager to contribute to the financial stability and success of the society. As a student studying Medical Innovation and Enterprise, I have developed a strong interest in financial management and the role that effective financial oversight plays in the success of organizations. I am confident that my academic background and attention to detail will allow me to effectively manage the MedTech Society’s finances, supporting the development of its activities.

Through my studies, I have gained a foundational understanding of business principles, budgeting, and financial analysis. Additionally, my role as a maths tutor has helped me hone attention to detail and the ability to break down complex tasks into manageable components, which will be valuable in maintaining accurate financial records.

If elected, I will focus on maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that the society’s funds are used efficiently. I am also eager to explore potential funding and sponsorship opportunities to support our events and initiatives, helping to expand the reach and impact of the MedTech Society.

I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the MedTech Society, ensuring its financial health while supporting its mission to foster innovation and collaboration in the field of medical technology.

Thank you for considering my application.

Best regards,

Isabel

Alisa Kennan

MedTech is an inspirational society putting forth amazing events for a diverse range of people, all of whom are committed to making a difference in healthcare.

Having been the treasurer of the Surgery and Interventional Science Society for the past two years, I share this passion, and have worked with the president and our committee to bring the society back to life. Thanks to this experience, I have a wealth of experience handling funding and event organisation, having collaborated with other uni societies to create events such as the Neurotech 2024 Conference with over 120 attendees.

I have also attended MedTech events for two years, and know that it takes a large amount of effort to organize and fund major events. Working with the powerhouse that is MedTech, I firmly believe I can help us secure sponsorships and funding from the SU that will enable us to bring you innovative initiatives and affordable ticket prices to great events. I am a collaborative team-worker who's always open to feedback, so if you'd like to see any changes in pricing I will always try to see what I can accomplish for you!

Thank you for your time, and looking forward to seeing you next year whether it's as part of the committee or not!

Hamdan Kekere-Ekun

Hi, I’m Hamdan, a second-year Biology student and the current Diversity & Inclusion Chair for UCL MedTech. I’m running for Treasurer and Corporate Relations because I want to help the society grow and create more opportunities for others interested in MedTech.

This year, I’ve enjoyed organizing the MFA conference, helping with speaker events, and supporting the committee in different ways. Through this society, I’ve met incredible people—from industry leaders to MedTech founders—and I want to make sure others get the same opportunities to network and get involved.

If elected Treasurer, I’d focus on securing more sponsorships and partnerships to fund internships, work experience opportunities, and high-quality events. I’ve already helped bring in sponsorships from multiple companies this year, and with more time invested, UCL MedTech can strengthen its relationships with companies and, therefore, host even better events. Alongside conferences and networking events, I’d like to introduce more workshops, particularly in entrepreneurship, and hackathons with great prizes.

UCL MedTech has been a huge part of my university experience, and I’d love to contribute more. If you want to see more opportunities, stronger industry connections, and better events, vote for me!
