Mehak Mondair

Hey, I’m Mehak, and I’m running to be your President :)

I was the marketing officer here for the past year - I position I incredibly enjoyed. I want to continue the incredible momentum we’ve managed to gain in the previous year, eg multiple successful careers events, pub quizzes, and academic talks. ADM is one of the oldest societies at UCL - it deserves a conscientious leadership team, which I would love to be a part of.

Experience:

  •  ADM Publicity Officer – I understand the community’s needs and how to engage members.
  • MODO Treasurer – Experienced in SU operations, budgeting, and organising large-scale events like our sold-out fashion show.
  • Operations & PR Internships – Skilled in handling logistics, high-pressure situations, and executing large events, including London Fashion Week.

Goals:

  • Keep the incredible momentum we’ve had this year going
  • More regular social events: eg Pub Quizzes and potentially events with other uni maths societies
  • Continue to host a range of career events, covering both finance/tech and academia
  • Host more academic talks, especially in conjunction with other departments.

For the committee:

  • A close-knit, supportive team.
  • Balanced workloads.
  • Collaborative decision-making.

Combining all of these, I believe I have what it takes to be your President. As someone who is passionate about engaging with my own degree subject - and the fellow mathematicians within it - I believe I would be perfect for the role, and would be honoured to serve as your Pres! Thank you xo

Daya Singh

Heya! You may not know me, but I'm the chronic tea-drinker who lives in the common room (I do not have a problem, I swear)!

I think that there are several things that the mathematics society can do to improve student life. Small changes, like supplying the common room with board games like chess, should be a part of that. And to be more inclusive, I think that the opportunity for non-committee students to host their own events via the society should be advertised more!

With regards to events, I believe in finding a wide range of sources for talks, from educators, to academics, to people in industry. These will be able to enrich the academic development of the students. On top of this, I feel that a multitude of small social events that reach individual niches of students, such as pub quizzes, art events and film events can cater to a wider array of students. Small things go a long way!

Lastly, I would like to diversify the range of merch to go beyond just clothing. I feel that branded card decks, key-rings etc would be more economically viable and accessible to more students.

Below are my contributions in past years:

TL:DR I pledge to provide board games and the like for the common room, make it better known students can make their own events, create more small events alongside big ones, provide a range of merch to do more than just clothes, and to provide a more diverse range of talks.
