Election post
I'm Angus Yeung, a Year 3 EEE student at UCL, and a fun fact about me is that I can play various types of Mahjong, including Hong Kong, Japanese, Sichuan, and Taiwanese styles! I have been a member of the UCL Mahjong Society since its inception, and it has played a significant role in shaping my university experience. Many of my closest friendships were formed through this society, and I want to help others experience how Mahjong can bring people together.
As a former committee member, I am familiarized with the process of organizing events and I'm well-versed in teaching newcomers about Mahjong. I believe my experience makes me an excellent fit for this role in the society; I will always be present during the weekly social events, and will be happy to address any concerns people may have about the game of Mahjong as well as assisting anyone who may need help with learning the game!
I want to show more people just how enjoyable and fun mahjong can be with a group of friends, or even as a means to meet new people. Mahjong might seem intimidating at first, but it’s an incredibly fun and rewarding game once you give it a try! For those who are eager to compete, I will also be introducing more tournaments.
Overall, I aim to forge a lively environment for everyone to hang out in our society. With my dedication, leadership, and vision, I am committed to making this society even more exciting, inclusive, and vibrant. Vote for me and let’s build an incredible Mahjong Society together!
