Miranda Leung

Hello everyone, I’m Miranda, and I’m excited to run for Treasurer of the Mahjong Society, because what better role than Treasurer, given my fair share of big wins and big losses over the years? I know firsthand the importance of handling finances carefully, and I am confident in my ability to manage the society’s budget with precision and responsibility.

As Treasurer, my goal is to ensure that the Mahjong Society remains financially stable while providing the best experiences for all our members. I will work to make sure we have the funds for regular events, tournaments, and socials, while keeping costs reasonable and transparent. I’m committed to being clear with the financials, making sure all members know where our money is being spent and ensuring the society’s finances are handled ethically and efficiently.

I am passionate about Mahjong and absolutely DETERMINED to being included in the committee, as to reciprocate the same fun, exciting games I’ve witnessed over the course of my first year here at UCL.

If you want a Treasurer who is reliable, dedicated, and passionate about Mahjong, I would be honored to have your vote. Together, we can keep this society thriving and ensure it remains as fun and accessible as possible for everyone.

Thank you for your time and vote for me!

Aidan Ho

I'm Aidan Ho, a first year undergraduate doing mathematics. I joined UCL Mahjong Society since freshers and loved the environment and atmosphere since. After the first few sessions, I helped the committee clear up the event venue and made quick friends with them, joining the society committee. Now, I wish to put my skills to good use in the position of treasurer so that the society may grow even larger with transparent finances and strong organisational skills.

Coming from Hong Kong, I have loved the game since young and wish to spread my enthusiasm towards more people so that we may not only be able to accommodate more players in our regular sessions but also provide more extra refreshments and collaborations. For example, I had a hand in organising and preparing many collaborations this year such as the Japan Society and Mahjong Competition, and I wish to improve and streamline future events and sessions such that everyone will enjoy themselves even more.

I hope that I will be able to serve everyone as treasurer and help the society progress, so thank you for reading and considering my nomination.
