I’m running for Treasurer of the Life Science Society because I want to help the society grow while making sure its finances are well-managed. I know how to budget because despite eating out almost every day, I somehow always have just enough money to get by at the end of the month!

If elected, I’ll make sure the society’s funds are used wisely to support both fun social events and valuable academic and networking opportunities. Whether it’s securing funding for career panels, guest speakers, or socials that bring students together, I’ll ensure the budget is used effectively so every member benefits. I will also collaborate with the rest of the committee to keep things running smoothly and make the most of our resources. I would really appreciate the opportunity to take on this role, keep the society’s finances in check, and help create even more great experiences for LSS members!

I am standing for the position of Life Sciences Treasurer because I believe my background in both biochemistry and business will enable me to effectively manage resources and support the goals of the society. As a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology student at UCL, I have developed a keen understanding of scientific processes and the importance of precise data analysis. Additionally, I have honed my business skills, particularly in financial markets, business analytics, and pricing strategies, all of which are crucial in managing a budget and ensuring financial stability.

My experience working with Microsoft Excel for both scientific and business data analysis has equipped me with the tools to handle financial records, track expenses, and forecast future spending with accuracy. I’ve also had hands-on experience with project management and marketing clinical products at SGS Quay Pharma, which taught me how to balance priorities, manage resources, and deliver results on time.

Outside of academics, I have actively participated in sports and volunteer work, where I learned the importance of teamwork, responsibility, and accountability. These experiences have instilled in me the discipline needed for the treasurer role. I am passionate about supporting the Life Sciences Society and would work hard to ensure funds are used effectively to foster a thriving community for all members. I am approachable, organized, and ready to contribute to the society’s growth in a meaningful way.
