Hello, I'm James

I am standing for the position of Life Sciences Outreach Officer because I am passionate about making life sciences more accessible and engaging to the wider community.

I have gained strong scientific and technical skills, I have  had the opportunity to communicate complex scientific concepts through presentations and scientific posters during my time as a Research Assistant at UCL. This experience has helped me develop the ability to make science more accessible which is vital for outreach initiatives.

Additionally, I have a diverse range of skills and experiences in business, marketing, and consulting, including working in clinical product marketing at SGS Quay Pharma and participating in the Arete Fellowship where I tackled global challenges. These experiences have enhanced my ability to approach outreach with a strategic and informed mindset, ensuring that initiatives resonate with audiences and meet their needs.

As a basketball coach and mentor in high school, I have developed a passion for leadership and community-building. I aim to use this experience to foster a sense of curiosity and excitement around life sciences, while also promoting the importance of science in everyday life.

I am eager to contribute to outreach efforts that make life sciences more inclusive, dynamic, and accessible to all. I am confident that my academic background, combined with my skills in communication and leadership, makes me well-suited for this role.
