Nicole Lee

Hi everyone! I’m Nicole Lee and I will be running for Consulting and Business Representative for Life Sciences Society. With an interest in the sciences, I am currently studying Biomedical Sciences, however, I was always quite uncertain about the future job prospects relating to this course along with my passions, as I wasn't quite exactly interested in pursuing research. Attending career talks within this society has helped me recognize the other numerous available paths, of which life and health consulting appealed to me.

As the Consulting and Business Representative, I will be committed to helping others explore their career paths too.

I plan to organise engaging events featuring professionals from consulting firms who can provide real insights into what the industry expects and what career opportunities are out there. Additionally, I’d love to host workshops and case study sessions designed to help us develop the skills needed to connect our scientific knowledge with real-world business applications. Beyond that, I want introduce interactive networking sessions where students can connect with industry professionals as well as collaborations with other university societies for us to boarden our horizons regrading consulting and business.

Along with my experience as VP of an Athletics Council, I believe I can organize well-structured and engaging events that cater to the interests and career aspirations of us all.

Tricia Teo

Hi everyone, I’m Tricia and I hope to be LSS’ next business and consulting representative! In the past year as the social secretary, I’ve organised frequent socials and enjoyed making new friends along the way. That being said, I hope to continue being part of a society with growing impact to students interested in the life sciences.

I would be a strong business and consulting representative as I have had previous experience as the sponsorship executive at UCL Consulting Society, where I reached out to companies for monetary funding and partnerships for events. Moreover, I was also involved in London Strategic Consulting as a consultant. With my strong interest in life science consulting in particular, I’ve attended multiple events and made strong connections in rhe field.

I hope to leverage my experience and knowledge on the industry to organise meaningful events for our members, ensuring there will be clearly defined takeaways for each attendee. I will also work on forging stronger inter-society partnerships in the organisation of consulting case competitions and case clubs.

I’m committed and have a wealth of experience in event planning and outreach—key characteristics of a strong business and consulting representative. I would love to lead the organisation of non-academia events for LSS, and I hope you could support me by putting in a vote!

Aditi Rasal

Hi! I am a first-year Biochemistry student with an interest in life sciences consulting. Finding life science specific opportunities early on can be difficult as many programs are only available for those further along in their career. I hope to bridge the gap between academics and industry:

My experience as a First-Year Representative for the Life Science Division of UCL Consulting Society and my position as a Capabilities and Insight Executive for it’s Client Project Division have equipped me with valuable teamwork and leadership skills. Additionally, my participation in a consulting project with UCL 180DC has shown me the skills required while working with clients to provide deliverable solutions.

As well as running speaker panels to provide industry insights for LSS members, I hope to implement the following:

1. Mini consulting project program

Allowing students to work on real-life problems for startups in biotech, pharma or healthcare

2. Internship Tracker

Helping to make the internship application process more organised and less overwhelming for everyone. Having a regularly updated database with deadlines and information on the process to make sure LSS members are aware of and able to access as many opportunities as possible

3. Case Workshops

Potentially collaborating with other societies, to run case study workshops to help prepare life science students for case interviews

James Bailey

Hello, I am James and I'm running for Business and Consulting Representative:

I am standing for the position of Life Sciences Business and Consulting Representative to leverage my unique blend of scientific knowledge and business acumen, which I believe can help bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and market-driven strategies in the life sciences sector. Currently pursuing a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

My experience in both the scientific and business arenas has shaped my holistic approach to problem-solving. Through my research assistant role at UCL, I developed strong laboratory skills in protein isolation and purification while honing my ability to communicate complex findings through scientific posters and oral presentations. Additionally, my role at SGS Quay Pharma provided hands-on experience with the drug development process and quality control, which gave me insight into the clinical and regulatory environment.

Moreover, I have built a solid foundation in business through certifications in financial markets and business analytics, as well as my work on the Molecule to Market Job Simulation with Pfizer UK. I’m passionate about applying my knowledge of behavioural economics and market trends to drive effective business strategies in life sciences.

As a representative, I am committed to fostering connections between research, business, and consulting to drive impactful solutions in the life sciences industry.
