Why Me?

Proven Leadership & Initiative – I’ve led award-winning legal tech projects, such as receiving an Honorable Mention at the Access 2 Justice InnoTech Law Hackathon. My team developed a comprehensive digital platform to empower victims of harassment and abuse. I also won the Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner’s Mobile Game Apps Design Competition for a game educating students on the legal implications of privacy protection.

Passionate about Legal Tech & Innovation – My interest in legal tech stems from exploring the intersection of law and emerging technologies, especially access to justice and intellectual property law. My research on Tencent v Yingxun revealed contrasting legal approaches to AI-generated works, reinforcing my desire to explore legal tech further.

My Vision as Career Officer

🔹 Expanding Industry Connections & Career Opportunities – Strengthen partnerships with law firms and tech companies to offer networking and mentorship for our members.

🔹 Inviting Guest Speakers & Experts – Bring in leading professionals to share insights on legal tech trends and challenges.

🔹 Partnering with Other Societies – Collaborate with other societies to organize joint initiatives, enhancing members’ understanding of real-world tech challenges.

Let’s Shape the Future of Legal Tech Together!

I aim elevate the UCL Legal Tech Society, creating opportunities for innovation, learning, and career advancement.

If you share my vision, I would be honoured to have your support.

Tracy Fu

Hi everyone! My name is Tracy, and I am running to be YOUR Careers Officer for Legal Tech Society. I believe my enthusiasm towards legal tech and networking abilities make me the most suitable candidate for this position, that can provide the best support to our society’s members.

Legal tech is an emerging field that drives profound changes in how law is practiced and how legal services are delivered. As your Careers Officer, I aim to bridge the gap between what law students learn in their modules and the real-world applications of legal technology. This involves a formulated approach towards accessing career opportunities in legal tech by partnering with other societies (eg. UCL Law Soc) and external organisations.

My vision for this role is simple but impactful. I would focus on organising events and workshops that allow students to learn directly from leading professionals in the field. Legal tech is an area where practical exposure is key, and I want to ensure that members of our society are well-positioned to gain this experience. For example, if I could have the honour of serving as your Careers Officer, I will organize a workshop bringing together academic speakers and industry legal practitioners together on the AI applications in law. This is to create a supportive environment where students can ask questions, share resources, and feel confident in navigating the latest trends in legal technology.
