I have been a writer & editor for Kinesis Magazine since 23/24 academic year, and am currently the Events Officer. I was the English editor-in-chief of my high school magazine, the Paulinian, an experience which taught me a lot about being an editor. I also recently started an internship as a medical writer at Klarity Health, in order to learn more about writing articles on medical science for the general public. I'd love this opportunity to help make your articles shine, so I'd really appreciate it if you vote for me!! :D
I am running for the position of copy editor for our Kinesis magazine because, as a current biomedical sciences student, I hope to further spread my passion for science, allowing both science and non-science people alike to enjoy our articles together. With my keen attention to detail and previous writing of different articles in high school, I believe my skills of proofreading, communication and teamwork will help with this role. Although I still have a lot to learn, I believe my hard work and perseverance will aid me in learning and growing in this role.
Through my previous leadership experiences in school such as Assistant Head of Relationships, House Vice-Captain and as a current Academic Representative at UCL, I hope that my experiences will help me through this role and allow me to be someone my team can rely on.

As a biology student, a writer, and someone deeply invested in making science communication more accessible and varied, volunteering for Kinesis would align spectacularly with my values and commitments.
I’m very familiar with the copy editing process, having previously had work published in magazines like Astray, manywor(l)ds, Nowhere Girl Collective, and, more recently, Kinesis itself. I love supporting my friends by offering to edit their pieces, and I have previously worked in small writing groups to edit each other’s work. I would love to develop these skills further and to learn a new side of science writing by contributing behind the scenes.
Thank you for reading! I hope to win your vote <3

Hello! I’m Aaditya, a first-year Biochemistry student with a keen interest in science communication and a passion for all things biology!
I deeply appreciate and value the intellectual contributions of our writers, whose thought-provoking articles have made Kinesis the reputable magazine it is today. As Copy Editor, I would work to elevate the quality of our publication by providing thoughtful, constructive and reliable feedback that our writers can reliably count on. I would also support writers by arranging interactive workshops and (in-person) feedback sessions, offering prospective contributors the opportunity to upskill and brainstorm in a welcoming and collaborative environment.
As Head of Biology for my sixth form’s academic magazine, I led a team of writers and editors in producing high-quality content covering a range of engaging topics within the life sciences. As a current member of the Kinesis Podcast Subcommittee, I have gained insight into the inner workings of the society while working closely with an extensive team (including committee members) to deliver compelling episodes of a high standard. These experiences have allowed me to develop key organisational and leadership skills, which would enable me to effectively carry out my responsibilities as Copy Editor.
Feel free to reach out to me at aaditya.gandhi.24@ucl.ac.uk if you have any questions - I'd love to hear from you!
