I am running for Vice President of UCL’s Jewish Society because I am passionate about strengthening our community on campus through celebrating each and everyone’s connection towards Judaism. I would strive for this through expanding opportunities for engagement both within our JSOC and the wider London community. UCL’s vibrant and diverse Jewish society is so important to me and I want to ensure that every student feels welcome, valued, and inspired to participate .
As VP, I would work collaboratively with the President and the rest of the committee to create a united front and ensure a collective vision. I would endeavour to create exciting events, from social gatherings to insightful discussions to enhance our connections with one another as a JSOC. These efforts would help foster a spirit of unity on campus, something which is vital.
UCL JSOC should be a space where students of all backgrounds and levels of observance can connect with their Jewish identity and each other. Whether through Shabbat meals, praying on campus and sporting events, I will ensure that our society is inclusive, supportive, and dynamic. Having been on the committee for the Israel society this past year, I believe that I have the capabilities to help lead from the front and ensure a cohesive society for next year.
It is only by working together, we can build a stronger, more engaged Jewish community at UCL, and as Vice President I would embody the values of collaboration and connection to ensure this.
