I would love to be the Jazz Society's workshop manager because I am very passionate about jazz education and expanding the jazz community to newer musicians at UCL. I've always viewed teaching and education to be one of the most important duties musicians have and a critical part of sharing music with the world. I have experience teaching not only private jazz lessons, but also have experience in running weekly jazz workshops, having taught several different workshops in the U.S. I have also spent the last 2 years assembling and creating (in my humble opinion) pretty high-quality educational materials for learning jazz. I also have experience running this particular workshop whenever the current workshop manager could not come. I also am qualified to teach improvisation because I do it a lot (been playing jazz for about 6 years now) and have been hired to do it for several high-level jazz bands, including on several studio albums, and have multiple soloist awards from competitions and festivals drawing bands from all over the Eastern U.S. I also have (admittedly limited) experience on all rhythm section instruments, which allows me to offer pointers and assistance on more than just my own instrument.
