Jazz Society: Choir Manager

Hey everyone! For those that don’t know me yet, I’m May, and I’m running for choir manager next year.

I was choir manager for two of the terms this year, and it has been an absolute privilege to work with such wonderful and bright people. This choir has been such a huge part of my first year university experience, and I would love nothing more than to continue supporting it next year.

While my focus this year has been on keeping things running smoothly, I know I haven’t organised as many choir socials as I would have liked - but that’s something I really want to improve on! I’d love the opportunity to set up more chances for us to bond outside of rehearsals, whether that’s movie nights or socials with big band.

Speaking of them, one of my biggest goals for next year is to bring the choir and Big Band closer together. There’s so much potential for us to work together more, both in performances and out of them. Jazz soc is such a tight-knit community, and I’d love for choir to feel even more connected to it.

At the heart of it all, I just want to make sure this choir remains a fun, welcoming, and inspiring space for everyone. Whether you’re here to challenge yourself musically, make new friends, or just enjoy singing with good people, I want to make sure you have the best experience possible.
