Yusuf Mohamedy

Assalamu’Alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

I am Yusuf, a third-year Biological Sciences student. Throughout my time at UCL, the Islamic Society has been a key part of my university experience, providing a space for spiritual growth, friendship, and collective impact. Volunteering during Charity Week and Discover Islam Week in my second year gave me firsthand insight into the incredible work ISoc does in uniting and empowering our community. Inspired by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who said, "The believer to the believer is like a building whose different parts enforce each other," I am eager to play my part in strengthening our ISoc.

As Treasurer, I will focus on:

Ensuring financial sustainability by diversifying funding sources, securing grants, and building relationships with alumni and sponsors.
Optimizing our budget to maximize the impact of ISoc initiatives while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Expanding fundraising efforts through innovative campaigns and stronger collaborations with Muslim organizations and charities.
Advocating for long-term financial support for key initiatives like Ramadan iftars, in partnership with the SU and UCL.
I am dedicated to ensuring ISoc has the financial resources to continue thriving and serving the Muslim community at UCL. I would be honored to take on this responsibility and contribute to our society’s success.

JazakumAllah Khayran!
