Arthur Stephens

Hi, my name is Arthur. Some would argue that being born in Dorset makes me an Englishman, but my 88% Irish 23andMe score begs to differ. I am so proud of my deep heritage that when I meet Irish people, I am probably a bit too eager to tell them that my mother is from Co. Roscommon (Conor C would know). Such eagerness even resulted in me doing Irish dancing lessons for a year at age 7, but that isn’t what I’m here for.

As Treasurer, quite simply, I’ll bring both the financial know-how of an aspiring commercial solicitor and the motivation of a bloke who has spent years justifying his Irish credentials to his English pals. I’ll make sure our funds are well-managed, events are well-supported, and, most importantly, that we have enough in the budget for a few well-earned pints.

I am confident that the various leadership roles I have had across my 20 years, including notably, as my school’s senior prefect, where I successfully managed the budget for events and our common room, ensure I am well suited for the role.

By voting for me, you are committing to the growth of the Irish and Northern Society—in spirit, prominence, and bank account!

Conal Flannery

If I can’t win prez why not this. I really care about the society as it really helped me to settle into London and get to know ucl, and the city so any way I could give back I’d love to.
