Intellectual Property Society: External Liaison Officer

Hi everyone! My name is Tracy, and I am running to be YOUR External Liaison Officer for Intellectual Property (IP) Society. I believe my enthusiasm, strong communication skills, and proactive approach makes me the most suitable candidate for this role. 

IP is a field I am deeply passionate about, and more importantly, have experience in. During an internship at an IP law firm, I participated in collaborative projects and worked closely with various IP practitioners. This allowed me to finetune my ability to collaborate with others, an important skill when establishing cooperative engagements. As your External Liaison Officer, I am committed to ensuring our society continues to thrive by working with external oragnisations.

The role of an External Liaison Officer requires the ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships, especially when brining in new sponsorships from law firms. Having attended events hosted by such firms, I have refined my networking skills amongst professionals and obtained a good understanding of what companies look for. I look forward to turning those know-how into good use. For example, one of my aims is to present our society’s prospectus in an accessible manner to make them easily digestible by firms and expand our sponsorship outreach.

As your External Liaison Officer, I am eager to use my experience and skills to secure meaningful sponsorships, organise impactful events, and build lasting partnerships that will greatly benefit our society!
