I would like to be Marketing Officer for Indian society. I’m passionate about our culture, and I believe I can help make our community more connected and engaging. I believe that marketing should be all about building real relationships within our society. My focus will be on creating a space where every member feels valued and included. I want to help build stronger connections between our members. By strengthening these connections, I’ll make sure that our society feels like a true community, where everyone belongs. I’m passionate about bringing fresh, creative ideas to the table. I want to make our society’s marketing stand out and excite our members. Creativity will be key to making sure our society’s events (like Dhamaal and Jashn) and updates get noticed and are as fun as possible .
In school, I was involved in a project called young enterprise. One of my roles was trying to get people to buy our item. i contacted companies trying to get them to invest in our product and also buy it in bulk. After using social media and other resources to market our product it ended up being a success. I am sure these skills will transfer well into be a marketing officer. If I’m chosen as your Marketing Officer I will bring good energy and will be proud to be repping our culture
Firstly I am really passionate about Indian culture - the food, movies, songs, and I've participated in many Indian cultural events and performances since being a child. Although Indian culture isn't something I was born into, it is something I've grown up around constantly having Indian friends and family, and my culture shares many similarities - at the end of the day I believe brown is BROWN and Indian society runs on brown vibes - which I think I am. The reason I am applying for a committee position is because I really like how close the committee are - they're almost like a big brown family themselves which I love - also I think I'm a person who's quite easy to get along with.
I really appreciate how much hard work the committee put into events, socials etc - because I realise its not easy at all and I am fully committed to dedicating time and work to help out with this over the year and I would genuinely really enjoy it.
I am applying for marketing officer because I think I'd do a really good job of creating promotional material via digital posters/tiktoks/instagram posts etc that catch people's eye and make them interested without it being cringe. I also have experience with this sort of stuff from helping run my secondary school's instagram account.
I am excited to run for the role of Marketing Officer for UCL Indian Society. I am eager to enhance the society’s promotional strategies and ensure our events reach and engage a wide audience.
– As a social media manager for a lip gloss brand, I successfully created engaging content and boosted online presence, these are skills I will bring to Indian Society.
– Attending an online art summer school gave me hands-on experience in digital art and ad creation, teaching me how to design visually appealing and impactful promotional materials. I have also always been interested in art and photography so I have experience in aesthetics.
– I understand the importance of consistent branding and engaging marketing, and I am ready to dedicate time throughout the year to elevate the society’s image.
My Plans:
- Work closely with the Head of Marketing and the committee to explore new marketing techniques, including short-form video content and interactive campaigns.
- Use Photoshop, digital art, and creative design to produce high-quality posters, videos, and social media content.
- Implement innovative strategies to increase engagement across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, ensuring maximum reach for our events.
- Continue on from this year’s marketing team to maintain a cohesive aesthetic for Indian Society that strengthens its identity and appeal.
I am applying to be a Marketing Officer of the Indian Society because I have enjoyed celebrating the culture, through the great events across the year. It would be a rewarding opportunity to help contribute to and improve the society’s initiatives and events.
With a strong background in marketing, I have successfully executed social media strategies across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn for various companies and brands, including my own. I am experienced in using Photoshop (and other Adobe software), Canva, and Sony Vegas Pro to create visually compelling content that resonates with audiences. In addition to my marketing experience, I have a solid foundation in web design, WordPress, and SEO, which I have learnt and utilised to increase brand visibility and engagement for several projects.
Therefore, I believe my diverse marketing experience will bring valuable insight and creativity into this role.
My name is Adi Hegde. I’m an Indian from Scotland—yes, you heard that right, an Indian from Scotland. A first-year economics student (at least that one fits the stereotype), and I’m excited to apply for the role of Marketing Officer.
Marketing isn’t just about promotion; it’s about creating a brand that resonates with people. My goal is to strengthen Indian Society’s presence by ensuring our events and initiatives reach the widest audience possible. I aim to showcase our society through engaging social media content, innovative campaigns, and strategic collaborations.
Growing up, Tesco’s slogan, Every Little Helps, stuck with me. I plan to bring that same mindset to this role—focusing on the details to ensure every post, event, and campaign builds excitement and draws people in.
As co-founder and Finance Director of a startup, I’ve developed branding and strategic planning skills, growing a business from the ground up. My experience as captain of representative cricket teams has taught me how to lead, adapt, and bring people together. Whether it’s crafting campaigns, securing sponsorships, or energising a crowd, I thrive on making an impact.
I’ll measure the success of my efforts through engagement rates, event attendance, and member feedback, ensuring our campaigns resonate with the audience.
Bye for now I’m looking forward to sharing my ideas and working together to make Indian Society bigger and better than ever!
